I’m a Catholic nerd and Linux/FOSS enthusiast from Poland.

my setup#

  • laptop: a random fujitsu lifebook running arch linux
  • server: lenovo thinkcentre m93p running ubuntu server and some self-hosted apps (more info in next sections)
  • ebook reader: bemi cognita+, a small and cheap e-ink device that doesn’t have an internet connection (sometimes it’s a weakness, sometimes advantage)
  • ender 3 3d printer and raspberry pi 4b for managing it via octoprint

fav software#

  • hyprland - highly customisable tiling window manager (i’m currently using dotfiles from jakoolit)
  • zen browser - fork of firefox with focus on privacy and productivity
  • obsidian - not open source, but free note-taking/second brain/digital garden tool with huge amount of community plugins
  • liquorix - linux kernel optimized for low latency (especially good for my old hardware)
  • calibre best ebook manager ever. it also has a powerful cli for converting many file formats to ebooks
  • keepassxc (desktop) and keepassdx (android) - offline-first encrypted password manager
  • syncthing - tool for file synchronization, available for many platforms. i use it for syncing my obsidian vault and passwords database between my laptop and phone

some apps that i self-host#

  • nextcloud - full office suite with many community apps, but i use it only for caldav (calendar and tasks sync). i may change it to a more lightweight caldav server in the future
  • immich - alternative for google photos with similar design and options
  • wallabag - a read-it-later service
